PMC Holiday - A Brief Outline
The system is designed to be intuitive and easy to use, and is built on a database of customers and a database of visits, linked by a unique customer ID number. Each visit record includes all necessary information about the visit, including a unique visit number, customer ID, arrive and depart dates, details of accommodation and extra items booked, rates and charges applied and payments received. Details of any visit can be displayed on screen at any time, and easily changed if required.
The main booking screen is supplemented by an on-screen chart showing bookings and availability for every accommodation unit for a period of up to two years. Bookings are shown as provisional or confirmed (deposit paid), and clicking on any booking on the chart displays the booking number and customer's name for that booking. The booking chart can be printed at any time.
A diary display showing visitors arriving, departing and on-site for any day selected from the calendar, enables effective supervision of arrivals and departures and immediate access to any visit record for update or checkin. It also flags up special requirements and any charges outstanding on departure.
A simple setting-up operation provides the system with the necessary information about an individual business. The main variables to be specified are: site name and address and optional information to be printed on receipts; details of bookable units in any number of categories and extras relating to each category; and details of rates and rate periods, deposits, discounts and special offers.
